Imagine the next time you join a discussion about driving simulator. When you start sharing the fascinating driving simulator facts below, your friends will be absolutely amazed.
With all the cool technological developments happening in Japan, it would make any one of us wish we were living over there. The country seems to always have the latest technology first. One key company that is always introducing new driving simulator technology to the Japanese public is Toyota.
The car manufacturer is constantly coming up with new vehicles and better ways to experience them. One example comes with the release of a 78-ton driving simulator the company revealed in the city of Shizuoka.
Toyota has been considering new ways in which they could enhance driving simulator. This has resulted in the company working several months to come up with the 78-ton driving simulator. The driving simulator recreates driving situations that are considered too wild for real life.
Looking like a giant silver bearing ball, the 23-foot dome is currently on display at the Toyota Higashifuji Technical Center in Shizuoka. The main purpose for the creation of the driving simulator is to help improve safety features on Toyota cars.
A quick review of the contraption goes something like this. You enter the dome like structure and sit down in seatbelt seats. The movements of the dome allows you to move and feel everything around you.
This was made possible by employing a system that allows you to tilt just about everywhere while experiencing vibration from specially built in driving simulator. When you slam on the brakes of your "car" the dome will jerk you forward.
Try turning the steering wheel sharply to the left and experience the dome shifting as fast as a car. This is all done as you are able to watch a virtual view of you driving your driving simulator through a whole bunch of settings that were specially created.
As your knowledge about driving simulator continues to grow, you will begin to see how driving simulator fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

The following article lists some simple, informative tips that will help you have a better experience with CDL drivers test. Once you begin to move beyond basic background information, you begin to realize that there's more to CDL drivers test than you may have first thought.
If you want to operate a commercial vehicle, you will require education, a professional attitude and special skills in order to obtain your Commercial Driver License (CDL). Many truck driving schools across the country offer great programs to develop these skills. However, another initiative to help people that are starting their careers as professional truck drivers are the manuals offered by the Department of Motor Vehicles of each state. For example, this department in Virginia offers a very complete manual with useful contents based on the Model CDL, Version 2.0 prepared by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). No doubt, you are going to appreciate to have all this information at your fingertips!
As a professional truck driver, you will have the responsibility of protecting citizens on the highways. Thanks to the manual, you will know how to operate your truck in a safe manner and you will learn about several details about the structure of your vehicle. In addition, the manual offers many test tips to be prepared for the CDL drivers test. It is possible that some questions of the drivers test have been selected from parts of the manual. Therefore, it is almost an obligation to take, at least, some time to read it.
The manual is divided in ten sections or parts you must know. You will find almost everything you need in every chapter. It begins with an introduction with information such as definitions, types of commercial motor vehicle, restrictions, and many others important things you need to know as an entry level learner. In the other nine sections, you will find detail information about topics such as air brakes, combination vehicles, doubles and triples, hazardous materials, transporting cargo, tank vehicles, among others. So, if you are looking for good information to pass your CDL drivers test and to have a wide general knowledge, the Commercial´s Driver Manual will help you a lot.
There's a lot to understand about CDL drivers test. We were able to provide you with some of the facts above, but there is still plenty more to write about in subsequent articles.

In my last article I talked about five potentially dangerous mistakes that people commonly make during their driver's test and how to avoid them. In this article, we are going to shift gears (so to speak) and focus not on the mistakes themselves but the biggest underlying cause of those mistakes, fear, and what you can do to neutralize it.
Whether you're heading out to your very first drivers test or you've already failed more times than Spongebob, nerves are likely to play a big role in whether you come home from the DMV with drivers license in hand or your tail between your legs. The good news is that, although it cannot be eliminated completely, fear can be greatly reduced and successfully managed. Here are five tips that will help you do just that.
1. Know your ride.
It always surprised me as an examiner how many people would attempt their driverstest in a car that was different from the one that they had done most of their learning in. If you are considering this, don't! While changing cars is no big deal for an experienced driver, it can be very unsettling for a new driver. Each car is a different size. Each car accelerates, brakes and handles differently and provides for different levels of road visibility. If you have practiced in a particular car, use it during the drivers test.
2. Leave the pimped out '63 Impala at home, player.
You should avoid taking your driverstest in a large vehicle if at all possible. Bigger vehicles (SUV's, trucks, vans, station wagons, armored personnel carriers, etc.) are more difficult to maneuver which, in addition to being a problem generally, is a particular issue if your driverstest includes parallel parking. They also provide less visibility and make it more difficult to judge traffic around you. Finally, and most importantly, larger vehicles tend to make the examiner feel less in control and thus, more nervous. And that's a very bad thing. So, think about the vehicle you're planning on using for the drivers test. If it has a swimming pool in the back, think again.
3. Steal the drivers test routes.
This one is my favorite because it's practically like cheating. Each DMV has a set of fixed routes that it uses and they are all located within a fairly small radius (usually a few miles) around the DMV building. Generally, each route is about the same length and is made up of different combinations of the same limited number of roads. If you can determine which roads are included in the testing routes (something a local driving school may be able to tell you) you can practice extensively on them and become very familiar with the roads on which you will be tested. In fact, you might even consider sitting outside the DMV in your car and simply following people on their drivers tests. Do this enough times and you'll know all the routes. The best part? There's nothing the DMV can do about it. Hey, it's a free country, right?
4. Know what time it is.
There's nothing worse for your nerves than rushing to your driverstest not knowing whether you are going to make it on time. Ensure that you are ready to go well ahead of schedule. Check to see that you have your learners permit/license with you and that you have your car keys. Make sure that the person who is giving you a ride to the driverstest is reliable and picks you up early and lastly, leave extra time to get there. If you expect that it will take half an hour to get to the DMV, leave home at least 45 minutes before your driverstest. If you live in a city where traffic is unpredictable or there might be a line-up at the DMV when you get there, leave even earlier. The last thing you want is to be heading into your drivers test in a state of panic.
5. Question Authority.
New driversoften have questions about the rules of the road or what to do in a particular situation that may arise during driverstest. In addition, they may have heard horror stories of things that have happened to others during their tests or received conflicting advice from friends about the testing process. If you have any questions whatsoever, the examiner will be happy to answer them before driverstest and you should not hesitate to ask. However, keep in mind that once the car is in motion, the examiner's role is simply to direct you around the driverstest route and observe your driving. During the drivers test, they will usually not answer any questions other than repeating or clarifying their instructions to you.
A great man once said "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" (or something like that). I think it was Winston Churchill. Or maybe it was MC Hammer. Whatever. The point is that there is really not a lot to fear if you are relaxed and well prepared. Remember the five tips outlined above and you should be well on your way. Good luck and good driving!

Being taught by a professional driving instructor is highly important, and although many friends or family members helping a learner driver may be reading this and thinking "I can do just as good a job as a driving instructor can!", the fact is that many experienced drivers are almost certainly used to driving with bad habits. Take this example; a large number of drivers will not use the interior mirror as often as they should, nor drive with their hands positioned on the steering wheel correctly.A professional driving instructor of course knows (or should know) the correct procedure for safe driving, and will teach you the correct way to drive in order to pass your drivers test. They are also trained and experienced in teaching skills to nervous drivers, which can allow learners to feel more comfortable on their lessons.
When choosing a driving instructor, remember that the cheapest option is not always the best. Having someone recommend an instructor is quite likely the best method of finding one that is appropriate for you, as your referrer will be able to highlight how helpful the instructor is, whether they are friendly and can be approached with any questions you may have whilst learning, and can also emphasise how successful the instructor is at teaching the driver the criteria that needs to be learnt. Speak to friends to discuss which instructor they used; their advice will be both helpful and impartial.
However, don't rule out tuition from friends and family completely. The more practice a learner receives, the better the driver should become, and many driving manoeuvres may become second-nature. During these sessions, the learner driver needs to remember what they have been taught by their driving instructor and should put the methods into practice. If a learner chooses to practice with a member of the family, or a friend, then ensure that:
- the person accompanying the driver is at least 21 years of age, and have held a full driving licence for at least three years
- the car being driven has 'L' plates at the front and rear
- the driver has adequate insurance cover
Squeezing in as many lessons as possible in a short period of time may not be beneficial for all learners. If time and money allow, the learner should try to book in at least one lesson per week with a driving instructor and preferably two, for 1-2 hours per session. These lessons will cover all of the driving test criteria over the weeks, which will include:
Moving off smoothly and safely on a level surface and at a gradient.
Applying appropriate safety whilst driving, and abiding by the Highway Code.
Using the controls (accelerator, footbrake, clutch, gears, steering) smoothly and safely.
Reversing manoeuvres, including reversing round a corner and reversing into a parking space.
Using interior and exterior mirrors effectively, before signalling, changing speed and direction.
Performing a controlled stop.
Turning in the road, and many other manoeuvres.
When the driving instructor feels that the learner is ready for the full practical driving test, it may be beneficial to perform a mock test. This will involve the driving instructor to act as the examiner and for the learner to take instruction and execute a number of procedures that will be given, such as turning the car in the road. This will give the learner a good example of what to expect on the actual test, so that they can be prepared as well as possible.
The examiner will test the driver on a selection of exercises that will have been covered in the lessons, and will assess the ability of the learner to drive competently.

One of the best times in a teen's life is when they get their drivers license. This license is the key for their traveling anywhere they desire without any parental rules. The drivers license also states that these young adults are ready for the adult world. Before these teens can get their hands on a car, they must go through with one more educational course. This is drivers ed.
Advertisers have seized upon a new way to get the word out about their products: slap their ads on your vehicle. Actually, this isn't an entirely new way to promote products as it has been in the experimental stages for years in limited markets. Now, however, the practice has become so widespread that companies around the globe are doing it. Soon, many cars in Mexico and France along with vehicles on the streets of California, Florida, and elsewhere will be sporting ads pitching a variety of products. In some cases the advertisers will pay you a monthly rental fee to place ads on the car you already own, while in other cases you could find yourself behind the wheel of a brand new car.Now for those of you who might be confused drivers ed is really called drivers education. This is a course that any teen who is 16 years or older can take in their high schools. What this course really is about is the various ways of driving a vehicle, the care that needs to be taken, the road rules in your state and if you are planning on buying a car, what needs to be done.
With the theoretical courses in the drivers ed classes there is a practical aspect that is offered. This is the practical driving lessons you can take. These driving lessons will help you to understand the best way of driving. The conditions of driving in traffic, highway courtesy, parking and all other driving aspects are covered in these practical lessons.Drivers must do what they do best: drive, a lot! Yes, no letting your wheels stay put; you'll be expected to put some serious miles on your car, especially around town where everyone can see and look at your ride.
One other factor that is covered in drivers ed is that of what you should do if you are caught for speeding or any other misdemeanor. These are important to know and understand as there is a large possibility of your getting caught for a traffic violation. For teeneagers, many States require that you take a driver's education course and that you possess a Learner's Permit for a specified period of time. The criteria is generally the same for a person who has never driven and is over the age of 30 and a teenager who is driving for the first time as well.
While drivers ed is a great way to learn about driving, you should see if you can augment these lessons with some practice. The best way to have this practice session without being in trouble is to fix a learner "L" board to your car. This will inform the rest of the public that you are learning to drive.
Also the police will understand if you make any mistakes while you are getting the hang of driving on the city streets. You should however have a responsible adult with you as most states don't allow unlicensed drivers to drive on the streets unattended. If you feel that you are making any type of mistake you can always find out the answer to these from your drivers ed instructor.
While there are many ways of learning about driving, learning to drive properly can help you avoid trouble. The various drivers ed classes have been specially made to assist new drivers with learning to drive safely. Contact one and begin to learn driving today.

All motorists and drivers know that aggressive driving is something that is never encouraged on the roads and streets. In fact, people would rather have drivers who are calm and cool rather than those who drive with their emotions raging on. Aside from being one of the causes of having other motorists quite hot-headed, aggressive driving also is one of the leading causes of minor and major traffic accidents.
Keeping a cool head and a forgiving heart is one good piece of advice that experts in driving and in the automobile world have for motorists. In fact, by keeping everything cool and calm, there would be most probably lesser accidents and a great decrease in aggressive drivers.
If for no apparent reason, a driver cuts you off on the road, experts suggest is that you still continually maintain a safe following distance. Now, if you feel like you would like to get back at that person, you can always wait until you are home to do some voodoo curses. In the meantime, do not try to tailgate him. That person who cut you off could actually just slam on those brakes if he wants to. And when he decides to do such, you would be running to your car shop and to your insurance company.
Now there are instances when you encounter a driver talking on his cellular phone. He drives with stick shift making him swerve dangerously into your lane. Now, you, on the other hand, have to slam on your brakes to avoid a collision and you are trying to find an escape route. What you do is you try to honk your horn in a polite way. That way, you are alerting the driver that his driving is quite dangerous. Make sure that you keep your distance from her. Do not try to catch that person's eye. In that process, you are actually taking your own eyes off the road.
In the meantime, if you choose to just keep it cool and calm, there are some stores that offer good and quality auto parts. By continually keeping your vehicle in good condition increases your chances of having total control over your vehicle in cases where you meet aggressive drivers. Same Day Car Parts is one of these stores and they specialize in specially crafted parts for vehicle models and makes like Honda parts.

Many people like the thrill of riding fast motorbikes and driving rally cars, some enjoy driving 4 X 4 vehicles in wild terrain at speed or just seeing how fast their 10 year old car can go, whilst others prefer a complicated game of Mah Jong or chess, maybe even the occasional game of Russian roulette. The psychology of Thai drivers includes all these traits and more.
Driving in Thailand is not for the feint-hearted. If you happen to be from one of the few countries in the world who drive on the Left side of the road you have a slight mechanical advantage because you are used to driving on the "wrong side of the road," and with the steering wheel on the "wrong" side, but even these benefits will not help you much in Thailand.
Whilst the laws of the road are very similar to your home country's, the Rules of Engagement are quintessentially and pragmatically Thai. Compared with Western countries the passing of a driving test is a minor formality which takes around 10 minutes in a car park with red cones. Until you pass this "test" you can drive anyway without 'L' plates if you are with another driver.
The general knowledge of any sort of Highway Code is virtually non-existent and such things as undertaking at speed and a total lack of signalling, even when turning across several lanes of traffic is normal practice.
In towns and cities motorbikes will cut you up left and right at the same time. Another will probably pull out in front of you and expect you to stop for it, whilst pedestrians weaving between traffic queues do not seem to notice cars or motorbikes heading for them at 50 kms per hour and only inches away.
In country districts where the roads or tracks seem to be appallingly potholed in places, any rules of the road are entirely forgotten by the local drivers who have been driving round these hazards for years. They will of course use the bit of the road without holes which may or may not be the correct one. It is possible to find yourself on entirely the wrong side whilst someone going in the opposite direction passes you on his wrong side. 4 X 4 vehicles are a must for country tracks as cars suspensions and ground clearance just won't cope.
If you have a driving licence from your own country as well as an international one, you have the patience of a holy-man, have eyes in the back of your head, the reflexes of Michael Schumacher in a Formula 1 Farrari, a crystal ball for checking out the local traffic and to make sure that the 'puddle' in front of you is not a metre deep, then you may wish to come to South-East Asia to check out this dangerous pastime. It's actually very good fun!

Nowadays, driving is considered as a very important skill. You could use this skill in cases of emergencies or even for something as simple as getting a change of scenery. Some people learned to drive by enrolling in driving schools while others were taught by their parents or friends. In any case, you would soon require a drivers license to be considered as road-worthy. This can be accomplished by passing a driving test.
It is not surprising that you would become apprehensive when taking a driving test for the first time. Even if you are confident in you driving abilities, you may still feel nervous or anxious. This is quite normal especially if you are one of those people who hate failing in anything. On the other hand, the seriousness of the test can naturally make you worry. Aside from passing a written exam, you will also have to succeed in the practical test. Becoming apprehensive would certainly make you look unprepared.
Driving tests are relatively easy to pass as long as you have prepared for it physically and psychologically.
When preparing for a driving test, you should try getting enough sleep the night before to help you fell refreshed and relaxed the following day. Getting enough sleep would guarantee that your concentration is at its best. To be mentally prepared for your driving test, you should review what you have learned at least two days before. You can even ask a friend to help you with your reviews.
Aside from these, you will have to deal with your nervousness and anxiety. They can be managed through relaxing techniques such as breathing deeply, exercising or meditating. Once you are relaxed you can focus on your driving test effectively. In some cases, the anxiety is so intense that you might feel like you will never be able to finish the written driving test and perform well in the practical part. If this happens, you can always try hypnotherapy before taking the test.
A relatively new technique n treating anxiety, hypnotherapy involves hypnotizing the person and making suggestions to the subconscious. It is believed that when a person is hypnotized, the subconscious is more receptive of ideas. A qualified hypnotist can determine the cause of your anxiety and try to manage it. As soon as you wake up, you will be less anxious of the driving test. Hypnotherapy works best if you undergo at least three sessions.

If you want to become a good driver, then you should gain as much as information as possible. Knowledge has no limits and that also refers to driving. With the help of an online interactive driving test, not only you will learn valuable information but also accumulate experience for your actual test. CDL stands for commercial drivers license and refers to a special category of drivers, meaning those who will operate heavy weight vehicles, such as trucks. The Internet offers special adapted practice tests, its conceivers wanting to make sure that they meet all the needs of their customers. Such educational tools in the form of a CDL practice test are one of the best things brought by computer technology.
The interactive driving test falls into the category of multimedia applications for educational purposes. People have understood that the Internet is the best place to get informed and they widely use it for various reasons, including improving their driving skills. Experienced drivers, no matter if they operate a bus or a truck, can also benefit from a CDL practice test, having the opportunity to keep up with regulation changes.
It takes a lot more control and knowledge to drive a heavy weight vehicle. In consequence, risks are higher and thus experience is very important. An interactive driving test provided by specialized websites prepares the drivers for the final exam, showing them what to expect and various ways to improve their vulnerabilities.
The difficulty of the driving test depends of course on the type of vehicle. Of course, before the test one has to undertake driving hours but sometimes these are just not enough. A CDL practice test can help the driver considerably, keeping in mind that the questionnaires are filled with precise and useful information. They relate mainly to three things: road rules, safety and vehicle control.
Prospective drivers can really profit from an interactive driving test, perceiving the final exam as less difficult. They get to learn what makes a better driver and how to apply all those rules. If they give the wrong answer to any question, they have the possibility to check it and see a thorough explanation. In this way, they gain knowledge and skills from their own mistakes.
It is important to know what a CDL practice test really is all about. Apart from the general knowledge questionnaire, students and drivers have to provide answers to questions about different endorsements (passenger, air brakes, hazardous materials, forklifts, combination vehicles and tank vehicles), plus pass through tests about road signs and vehicle control. Every section is carefully made, so as the driver clearly understands the question and gives the right answer.
There are also additional benefits to such online tests. There is the section of frequently asked questions, where people can clear certain doubts. They also have links to the Government Department of Transportation both from US and Canada, not to mention atmospheric and road conditions, driving directions and recent updates of traffic laws. These represent useful information for any driver, regardless of him/her being a first-timer or one with experience.
As a final result, it can be said that online interactive driving tests are a very useful tool. They prepare the driver, give out the necessary information and introduce all the traffic regulations. The Internet technology has offered many great things and educational software is perhaps one of the most used ones. This doesnt relate only to driving, being a known fact that other kinds of domains benefit from such programs.

Uninsured drivers aren't just a danger to your life and vehicle - they can cause serious damage to your wallet, too.
That's according to recent findings from the Association of British Insurers, who claim that around a million drivers don't have insurance. What's more, as well as costing us lives, damage to vehicles and untold distress, these uninsured drivers are also costing us somewhere in the region of 40 per year on top of our insurance premiums.
While fully comprehensive insurance cover will get your vehicle repaired in the event of an accident caused by an uninsured driver, those repairs don't come without their costs. If you haven't paid to protect your no claims bonus, for example, you'll lose it (meaning a higher insurance premium next year), and you'll still be liable to the pay the excess on your policy.
Pursuing a compensation claim through the Motor Insurers' Bureau, meanwhile, may well be successful - but you'll still have to pay the first 300 of your claim. Honest drivers who dutifully pay out for insurance each year can't seem to win. Or can they?
Last but definitely not least, Check to see which insurance companies offer specific 'Senior Discounts.' While shopping around for the best auto insurance rates is important, which insurance company you choose might depend on how they treat senior drivers.
Senior drivers can refresh their skills and knowledge -- and get a discount on auto insurance coverage in many states -- by taking a refresher driving course, such as the eight-hour '55 Alive' course offered by AARP. More than two-thirds of states mandate auto insurance policy discounts for such courses, and many insurance companies offer the discounts voluntarily.
Unfortunately there's little you can do to lower the chances of being involved in an accident with an uninsured driver. You can, however, take steps which will reduce your chances of taking a financial blow as well as a physical one because of it.
1. Take a note of the vehicle registration
Many drivers who know they are driving illegally will try to fob you off with false contact details if you're unlucky enough to be involved in a collision with them. A car registration number is harder to fake, however, so write it down, and also make a note of the make and model of the vehicle, along with any other identifying details.
2. Ask witnesses for help
Do not wear sunglasses or tinted glasses when driving at night. For many older drivers, night vision is reduced, so safety dictates not driving at twilight or after dark.
Anyone who witnessed your accident may be able to back up your claim against the driver, so take the contact details of any passers-by.
3. Take pictures of the damage
If you happen to have a camera phone or digital camera with you at the time of the collision, so much the better: use it to take comprehensive pictures of the crash scene including both vehicles and registration numbers. If not, take pictures of the damage to your vehicle as soon as you have the opportunity to do so. If you have injuries such a bruising as a result of the collision, photograph this too, using the "date and time" function on your camera (if available) to help prove when the pictures were taken.
4. Protect yourself with a loss recovery policy
By adding a loss-recovery plan to your insurance cover, you'll protect yourself against uninsured losses, and make sure that your excess is covered in the event of a non-fault claim. Computer Quote Insurance's policy costs just 12 and includes discounted legal assistance, non-emergency medical treatment and 24 hour message helpline to notify your friends and family of an emergency. Can you remember when you turned 16? It was a huge day in my life as I'm sure is in millions of other American youth for this was the day that we got our drivers license. Don't even try to deny it. We all wanted that little card so badly we could hardly stand it. It was going to change our lives. If you are a male, I know you were dying to acquire that legal piece of plastic that said you could finally drive on your own. It meant cruising around with your buddies and taking your best girl out on a date.
Indeed, the very definition of a drivers license is freedom. So many of us actually believe that we can venture out to any place, near or far, once we've earned the almighty drivers license. I guess that was little overly optimistic. Not to sell the access card short, but like many other things, the reality never quite lived up to the expectation. Nevertheless, it's great to finally get your drivers license and enjoy the sweet freedom that it brings. When did you get your drivers license? I remember that I got mine the very day I turned 16. Where I came from, we could get our learners permits when we turned 15, so I already logged some pretty good miles. Finally the license was attainable. What I find funny now days is the change in mentality. I see our 17 son and scratch my head.

He was pretty apathetic about getting his drivers license right when he hit that milestone of 16. What's that all about? Have things changed so much in the last couple decades? He more or less said that he would did when he got around to the end that wasn't anything to be all that concerned about. Although we were clearly puzzled, we decided not to push it. Six months later I guess he found the proper motivation and got his official drivers license.
Last but definitely not least, Check to see which companies offer specific 'Senior Discounts' While shopping around for the best auto insurance rates is important, which insurance company you choose might depend on how they treat senior drivers. You'll get their best rates if you're healthy and drive a safe, modern vehicle.
Do you have a drivers license? The majority of adults do. I think it's kind of pain that we have to get new ones each time we move. Why can't I just keep the same one? We seem to move quite regularly, and I dread always having to go back to the DMV or BMV as they call it here, and test for a new drivers license. But I understand why there's been a turkey the current including your present address. Having a drivers license makes our day-to-day life quite a bit easier. If you have not yet received your first drivers license, you can always get a head start by hopping online. The great thing is that nowadays it is relatively easy. You can prepare for that much-anticipated license to freedom before you even reach the age of 16. There is one of information they had so go ahead and get a head start.

I have been stopped several times on the way home by the multitask force to stop drunk drivers. I do not know other locations they sit at around the county, but I am grateful for the one on a well traveled road. Officers were making arrests each time my wife and I were stopped, a job well done by the combined police forces of our communities. This last time however, I thanked them for doing a great job, but then I added a value I have spearheaded since the early 70's. To my surprise he, and other officers agreed, and I decided to share this view with you.
The state claims a motor vehicle is a dangerous weapon. Actually all states in the continental U.S. have done so, therefore it stands to reason: if a motor vehicle is a dangerous weapon, and a drunk driver operates one, then any crime committed during that operation, becomes a class One, or ‘A' felony, depending upon the State you are familiar with. Where is the logic?
Drinking is not a crime. Driving while intoxicated however is premeditated. They choose to drive period, there is no accident in drinking while driving. Getting in the drivers seat after you "had one or a dozen" does not matter. Drinking booze of any kind before or during driving is premeditated. Drunk Drivers kill, they destroy families, they cost the taxpayers money, they cause property damage in the billions in the United States.
Senior drivers can refresh their skills and knowledge -- and get a discount on auto insurance in many states -- by taking a refresher driving course, such as the eight-hour '55 Alive' course offered by AARP. More than two-thirds of states mandate auto insurance policy discounts for such courses, and many insurance companies offer the discounts voluntarily.
Although every so often the Governor tells us the laws are more strict concerning drunk drivers, and no doubt there have been minute laws passed, the fact remains that we are in the top ten nationally for drunk drivers. We might not be able to prohibit alcohol, but we can elect sober congressmen and senators, and get laws passed that fit the crime. While people are dying, or maimed for life, we are attacking businesses and wait-persons for serving it, instead of attacking the drunk driver themselves.
I'm not saying they shouldn't pay part of the damages.. and this might sound logical to you, and great for drinking representatives, but not to most of us. When a person has been drinking and operates a motor vehicle it is premeditated. Therefore if someone dies, it always has, and should be, murder one. He or she knowingly drinks, purposely gets in a vehicle, and starts a deadly weapon and therefore anything that happens in that commission is either attempted murder or murder one if anyone is hurt or killed. That my friends is no accident, it is called premeditated. It's time we elected sober representatives to make sure the right people are tried and convicted, not the businesses that serve them.
It doesn't matter how bad they feel after the death of someone else, or how long they have to live with it, judges should not be lenient on this issue, it is time for putting things right in America. A drunk driver who kills someone, is murder one, a drunk driver that maims someone, or causes them any hospital visit should be attempted murder and prosecuted as such. Property damage should be paid by the drunk driver and insurance companies should be reimbursed, forcefully with no ability for either to file bankruptcy on it. It must be paid even if funds from spending prison time are used to pay it, and only after that, in cases where the driver had no insurance, go after the businesses and wait people.
Let's put the drunk driver back where he belongs, and begin charging them with destruction of property over $1000, that is a felony, theft of property (taking away the rights of others use of their property over $1000) another felony, Attempted murder if anyone is injured, murder one if anyone is killed. It's time to put it back on the drunk where the fault lies. Things may not change, surely not in time to save another life, but it is the best hope we have. The police officers, and Highway patrolmen I have spoken to have overwhelmingly agreed with this outlook, and I encourage those that do agree to write.
Do not wear sunglasses or tinted glasses when driving at night. For many older drivers, night vision is reduced, so safety dictates not driving at twilight or after dark.

There are two different groups of drivers that are considered the most dangerous on the road, the teens and seniors. The teens are young and are beginning to drive. They are learning about the rules that need to be followed on the road. There are also the seniors which even though they have more experience, their response time decreases significantly. By taking a look at the negative aspects of bad driving in each group we can come up with a conclusion of who is the worst driver - teens or seniors?
Seniors are the most experienced in driving, but with age they start loosing their senses. Hearing and lost of eyesight are the two major senses that people within the senior age group start loosing. The response time for seniors is longer thus making them less reliable. Their memory tends to be shorter as well.
Do not wear sunglasses or tinted glasses when driving at night. For many older drivers, night vision is reduced, so safety dictates not driving at twilight or after dark.
Seniors usually do have more time to travel to their destination but because of the loss of senses and memory capabilities they get lost. This leads to a confusion that causes accidents, making them less reliable on the road.
Teens are beginning to drive they are trying to cope with school, work and rules. Teens have all of these issues to work with and not enough time to place them in order or to prioritize them. Teens sometimes are unable to decide right from wrong. Teens can be immature and do not have enough experience to figure out quick decisions and that all the responsibility that is needed to be structured in order to have a better and safe environment system on the road.
Teens are under peer pressure. This pressure can get them involved in street car racing to prove to others who is tougher. This is a game that only ends up being dangerous to all with consequences that leads to nothing but sadness to all of us that care because teens can hurt themselves, others that are racing or even unsuspecting passer-bys.
Last but definitely not least, Check to see which insurance companies offer specific ‘Senior Discounts.' While shopping around for the best auto insurance rates is important, which insurance company you choose might depend on how they treat senior drivers.
Teens are also into customizing their vehicle. Customizing can void or destroy most of the safety features the vehicle was built with originally. Teens are also a risk on the road because they also want to have fun. The teens do not think of the consequences of what their driving can do. Some teens drink alcohol and use drugs and still take off driving thus putting at risk all of us on the road.
Music is a big effect on teens. They listen to music that stimulates the brain and distracts them making the teen drivers less reliable on the road getting carry away. Teens are also distracting with calls on cell phones while driving. While a more experienced driver might be okay taking a call teens don't yet have the experience to deal with this extra item that takes away their focus on driving.
Another factor I must add is when teens are traveling in groups they tend to distract each other causing the driver to loss the focus on the road and that is when fatal accidents occurred. Teens have fatal accidents due to careless driving every year.
Think about the issues I discussed for both seniors and teenagers. Both groups have different sets of concerns. Both can make driving difficult on the road for us. Now I ask you, who are the worst drivers Teens or Seniors?

These days, young male drivers can face some of the highest car insurance premiums around. Even those with low value vehicles can be paying over 3000 for their car insurance! With such high prices, and trends unlikely to change in the near future, young male drivers need all the help they can get when it comes to lowering their car insurance premium.
The main reason for these lofty premiums is that young male drivers are seen as very high risk customers for insurance companies. They are assumed to have a higher exposure to alcohol and illicit drugs; are more inclined to overcrowd their vehicles; more likely to drive irresponsibly, and consequently more likely to be involved in an accident.
While it is obvious that this does not truly represent all young drivers, and there are plenty of young male drivers who drive responsibly, their premiums are being raised by the growing number of young, reckless male drivers who taint the statistics.
But as well as these (possibly unfair) assumptions that the insurance companies make, there are other factors they take into consideration when calculating your risk, and therefore the price of your insurance. It is these factors that you can do something about to help lower your insurance costs.
Claims & Convictions
If you are driving for the first time, or are a very young driver, you hopefully will not have been able to build up any claims or convictions. Like any driver, try not to make any claims or get any convictions at all.
If are unlucky enough to have made a claim already then your insurance is likely to be even higher. If this is the case, try a specialist in young driver car insurance such as QuoteA who can offer discounted policies for younger drivers and high-risk cases.
Keeping Your Car Safe
The less chance there is of you needing to make a claim, the lower your premium will be. Therefore the insurance companies want you to keep your car as safe as possible.
If you can, keep your car in a locked garage as this makes it a lot more difficult for your vehicle to be stolen or vandalised. Keeping your car on a driveway can still help to lower your premium slightly, whereas leaving your vehicle on the road will not help your premium at all. Other ways of securing your vehicle include having an immobiliser or a tracker installed. These can help to make a noticeable difference to your premium, but you must make sure your immobiliser is thatcham approved and your tracker is professionally installed.
Where you live
Although this isn't necessarily something you can change, you should be aware of the effect it can have on your premium. When calculating your insurance, your insurance company will look at the area you live in and price your premium accordingly. They will consider the crime-rate of the area to give an idea of the chance of your car being stolen or vandalised. They will also assess the traffic-density of the area - heavier traffic flow means you're more likely to be involved in an accident.
Pass Plus
The Pass Plus scheme may be one of the best ways for young drivers to save money when they first start driving a vehicle. It is run by the Driving Standards Agency and consists of a short course of further driving training after you have passed the standard driving test. The course covers town and country driving; dual carriageway and motorway driving; and all weather and night-time driving. Not only is it a great way to improve your skills and confidence, but because of the increased knowledge and safety you will learn, most insurance companies will discount up to 40% from your insurance premium! This is a lot of money you can save, but it is worth noting that the Pass Plus discount is only available for the first year of you driving. However, after this first year, you can still save a great deal with a "No Claims Bonus".
No Claims Bonus
Drivers who do not make any claims are rewarded with cheaper insurance costs. They are seen as a much lower risk and pay a lower premium accordingly. Every year of claim free driving earns you 1 years No Claims Bonus. These bonus's can offer huge reductions on your premium, from about 30% for 1 years NCB up to around 70% for 5 years NCB from some insurers. This means that if you get your Pass Plus certificate and do not make any claims during your first year, you can continue to make a saving in your second year because you will have earned your first years No Claims Bonus.
It is also worth noting that many young male drivers remain under their parents insurance policy to save them money. This may work out in the short term, but in the long term it is much better for young drivers to get their own policy and start building up their own No Claims Bonus. This way they will have built up a sufficient discount within just a few years.

The number of female truck drivers has steadily increased over the years and today there are more women truck drivers than ever before. Not only are there more local women truck drivers, but there are also more long-haul truck drivers who are female.
In 1995 there were 130,000 female truck drivers and in 2005 there were 155,000 female truck drivers state; the American trucking Association. These figures are confirmed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, part of the US federal government. The number of female truck drivers is increasing at a greater rate than ever before and by the end of 2007 is expected there will be over 200,000 female truck drivers.
The real issue is that there is a shortage of truck drivers in the United States that over the next decade could be as high as 700,000 and someone has to fill the gap. Interestingly enough female truck drivers tend to be very safe drivers and therefore they make excellent candidates for truck drivers.
Last but definitely not least, Check to see which insurance companies offer specific ‘Senior Discounts.' While shopping around for the best auto insurance rates is important, which insurance company you choose might depend on how they treat senior drivers.
Next time you pass a truck on the freeway perhaps you will look over and notice that it is not a male driver but rather a female and realize she is not alone. There's a growing number of female truck drivers on the road and that trend is expected to continue well into the next decade. Please consider all this in 2006.
